Money’s not worth a single tear

For an optimistic

Living with a pessimistic

Can be a pain in the attic

But thankfully I m artistic

I will not let someone else s mood

Ruin the lovely warm of spring

The tulips in the garden bloom

And summer will soon be coming

Never mind the future

I m broke but love is free

Who cares about the vultures

Let s live and love happily

Earth music and songs are here

Children and sunny days will be back

I know that for a fact

Money s not worth a single tear l

  1. I’m too much of a realist to appreciate the message, mika. That is to say, I understand that money is not worth a tear and that real happiness (and love) cannot be bought. However, living on dreams can lead to disillusionment if carried too far. An example: my wife and I enjoy going to Hawaii. While there we “make memories”, walking along the beach, eating at a restaurant overlooking a setting sun on the ocean, taking a cruise around the island and so forth. These experiences bring us closer together and we revisit them when we’re at home by looking at pictures we’ve taken. However, the only way to have these is by hard work which brings the money to enable us to do this. I guess what I’m trying to say is: dreams need to go hand-in-hand with practicality otherwise, the dreams (it seems to me) remain unfulfilled and always beyond our grasp. πŸ™‚

  2. lovely poem. i think we agree that you’re never really broke when love is free, are we? people just prioritize different currencies: whether money or agape. and may i point out that that’s an huge field of sunflowers in your picture. wow.

  3. Thanks for your comments JamesD and biggerarbalone ,
I sure would love to visit Hawaii , so far it didn’t happen although I spent a year in the USA back in 1986 …but I m patient and I have many friends all around the world so I’m kind of hoping I’ll be able to visit them once I retire πŸ™‚
I feel love and imagination make people rich as well πŸ™‚ and that enjoying life in its little moments of happiness as the arrival of spring can feel as good as a trip to Hawaii …I swear when I was in that sunflower field I was very very happy and that didn’t cost me anything to stop in the field , I was on holidays in the south of France and that field was along the way πŸ™‚ I also like to have sunflowers in my garden biggerabalone but not as many as in that huge field , only a few , but they put sunshine in my life πŸ™‚
And writing poems really makes me happy too πŸ™‚ I m in the process of making a book of the ones that were on my.opera former blog actually πŸ™‚
